About Andrea
As a clinical counselor, Andrea specializes in guiding high performers, professionals, and individuals navigating trauma, addiction, and significant life transitions toward deeper healing and resilience. She understands the pressures of high-achieving professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives who strive for excellence yet feel weighed down by stress, perfectionism, or unresolved trauma. Andrea’s approach helps clients break free from patterns of overwork, self-doubt, and emotional exhaustion to cultivate a more sustainable and fulfilling life. Her work is rooted in the understanding that past experiences shape present-day beliefs, behaviors, and relationships, influencing the way we engage with ourselves and the world around us.
When working with Andrea, she provides a space that fosters trust, self-awareness, and meaningful change. Through a therapeutic relationship grounded in safety and evidence-based care, her goal is to help individuals cultivate emotional regulation, reconnect with their innate strengths, and develop clinically sound strategies to ease the intrusive nature of mental health challenges.
Andrea’s approach integrates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Adlerian psychology, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, PTSD, addiction, and the unique psychological demands of high achievers. Through a client-centered lens, Andrea supports individuals in reclaiming a sense of control and balance in areas of life that have felt stagnant or overwhelming.
Andrea holds a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Exercise Science from Calvin University. Her background in kinesiology has given Andrea a deep understanding of the connection between movement, the nervous system, and emotional well-being. This foundation informs her work as a therapist, allowing Andrea to integrate somatic approaches that honor the ways trauma and stress are held in the body, facilitating a more holistic path to healing. Andrea’s professional experience includes working in community mental health within the greater Boston area, at addiction treatment centers in San Diego County, and in a group practice setting in San Diego.
Healing is not about erasing the past but about transforming how we move forward. Andrea believes therapy should be a collaborative and empowering experience, one where you feel truly seen and supported. Andrea’s style is warm, direct, and deeply attuned to the needs of each individual she works with.
